125g golden caster sugar
1 cinnamon stick
3 cloves
750ml bottle red wine
Put the sugar in the pan with the wine.
Add the cinnamon stick and cloves.
Heat gently until the sugar dissolves but do not boil.
Turn off the heat and let the mixture stand and infuse.
