100g Self Raising flour

50g vegetarian suet

50g cheddar cheese, grated

1tsp thyme

 

Sieve flour into a bowl and mix in all other ingredients.

Add about 4tbsp cold water (one tbsp at a time) until the mixture makes a soft but not sticky dough.

Shape into small balls, each about the size of a walnut.

Place in the stew or casserole and cook for a further 20 minutes.
